The Short North Arts District
The Short North Arts District is the most vibrant spot in the City of Columbus, Ohio. The Short North is a hip, culture-rich area centered on North High Street. Contemporary art galleries fill converted warehouses, and the Wexner Center for the Arts hosts boundary-pushing exhibitions. Shops selling records, streetwear, and vintage clothes are interspersed with packed restaurants, coffeehouses, craft-beer bars, and casual dessert eateries. Experience the Gallery Hop on the first Saturday of the month where all of Columbus comes down to the Short North area for plenty of street performances, art galleries, and food & drink for everyone. Goodale Park is a great space to have a picnic, catch a festival or concert, or just take in a bit of nature in the heart of a bustling urban neighborhood.
Just north is the Ohio State University and the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center, home of the James Cancer Research and Treatment Center, and the Ohio State Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital.

Columbus Sporting Events
Columbus is a sports city. It's been home to professional teams in several leagues and college programs at all three NCAA divisions. Additionally, Ohio's capital city has hosted hundreds of events spanning dozens of sports. Every year Columbus hosts the Arnold Sports Festival, an annual multi-sport event consisting of professional bodybuilding, strongman, fitness, figure and bikini weekend expo. Buckeye Lake
At Buckeye Lake you can dive into the energy and excitement of water sports and recreational activities. Experience the art, go shopping, or take to the trails to enjoy the great outdoors while you .eat, drink and party at the many restaurants and bars around the lake! Buckeye Lake State Park is Ohio’s oldest state park. This 3100-acre man-made lake was started in late the 1820s to provide a reliable water supply as the canal descended from here to the Ohio River. Just 30 minutes east of Columbus, the public can enjoy access for boating, fishing, kayaking, jet skiing, and swimming. A 4-mile shoreline bike cycling/walking path connects the North Shore at Buckeye Lake State Park to Lieb’s Island. Crystal and Fairfield Beaches are public and open during the summer.
During the winter under the proper conditions, park visitors can enjoy ice skating, ice fishing, or take the ice plunge during the annual Winterfest!
